Jacksonville Magazine's Second Annual
Jacksonville Lantern Parade
The second annual Jacksonville Lantern Parade presented by VyStar Credit Union took place Saturday, February 16 and if you don't mind us saying, it was a smashing success. Thousands walked the parade route from the Riverside Artist Square under the Fuller Warren Bridge down the St. Johns River to the Jacksonville Landing. The Parade itself began at 7 PM and concluded with a Downtown fireworks show at 8:55 PM.
Prior to the official start, participants were invited to come to the starting line and join in the fun with live music, kids games, food trucks and more. There also was music presented at the riverfront stage at the Jacksonville Landing.
The illuminated celebration of creativity, kids and the St. Johns River was free and open to the public. All we asked was that participants brought something that glows, twinkles or shines. For 2019, more than 5,000 people turned out to continue what we believe will become one of the city’s signature annual events—a glowing display of color, light, music and movement that lights up the heart of Jacksonville.
Thank you to all those who joined in the parade, especially the musicians, vendors and our sponsors. We can't wait to see you again in 2020!
